Artist Bio

My art enables me to communicate a deep appreciation for the incredible beauty found in the human figure. My hope is that my paintings tell stories of intimacy, vulnerability, and honesty. The subtle expression of the human face is forever shifting, engaging, and questioning. Capturing those fleeting moments of human experience has kept me fascinated as an artist for eight years. I spent five of those years as a portrait painter (producing over seventy-five commissions for clients across the Southeast), and the last few years as an artist telling my own story with my paintings. I paint representationally as an honest admission of the beauty that surrounds us everywhere, and also out of reverence for the exquisite pallet of nature—colors quietly present, waiting to be celebrated.

I credit my education to apprenticeships under Marc Chatov of Atlanta, Georgia and Nelson Shanks at Studio Incamminati in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I completed my formal education at Auburn University while studying painting under Ronald Bayens. I currently live and share studio space in Atlanta, Georgia and teach in the Mueo Arts Academy.
